Incomplete list, based on my own opinions only, and most probably I forgot quite a lot of things.
  1. Albums: Sufjan Stevens, "Age Of Adz", Chemical Brothers - "Hanna", Elbow - "Build A Rocket Boys", Beastie Boys - "Hot Sauce Committee Part 2".
  2. Songs: Justice - On n' On, Lana Del Ray - Video Games, Tim Minchin - Storm, Balkan Beat Box - Political Fuck.
  3. Movies: "Limitless", "Source Code", "Adjustment Bureau".
  4. Television: Homeland (new TV series), BBC documentary programmes, Dexter, Top Gear.
  5. Non-violent and vibrant social protests in Israel.
  6. Atheism, rationalism.
  7. Hanging around with Eva.
  8. No more Harry Potter.
  9. Dri Fit/Clima Cool clothes.
  10. Museumsinsel (Berlin).
  11. Slightly less cynicism, slightly more openness.
  12. McLaren MP4-12C (and I apologize for being 8 years old with this last choice).

Invisible Hands

I don't believe in invisible, unproven things. They may exist, and people surely religiously believe in them (literally) but when they fail, they do it so spectacularly and inexplicably. When an airplane crashes, it also does it spectacularly, but at least you can gather hard evidence and explain what happened, how it happened, and whether we can prevent it in the future. When one of the "invisible hands" - the of god and the one of the market fails, we can usually explain what happened, but we can rarely explain how it happened and we can never prevent things of happening in the future. Another Short Review: Shure SE215 IEM

After a few years of using solely Sennehiser IEMs (In Ear Monitors, a fancy name for in-ear headphone or earbuds), I was convinced to buy the Shure SE215. These earphones are the lowest in Shure's range of IEMs that includes the SE315, SE425 and SE535. I always perceived Shure as a firm that makes very good high-end models, but neglects the middle range. Apparently, the SE215 is a break from this tradition, which they made in order to cash in the ever growing number of portable media players and smartphone. The SE215 received excellent reviews, like "the best under $100 you can buy" and another review "$100 earphones should not sound that good". My own opinion is not different: the build quality is great: the design is utilitarian and sturdy but pleasant, with detachable cables and memory-foam or silicone tips. So why do I like the iPhone 4

The geeks of this world are divided into two groups: those who adore Apple and those who hate it. You may claim that this is not the case, and that there are some people who combine the use of Apple products with the use of products from other brands, but they are certainly not "Apple Fanboys". Those people are not really geeks then. People who choose their technology according to their usability and not according to their brands simply can't cut it as "real" geeks... I belong to the Apple haters, and I have the usual geeky reasons: their products are beautifully designed but always flawed and their attitude towards their customers and developers reminds me of either a feudalistic or a totalitarian regime. In fact, the way Apple fanboys (and fangirls) talk about Apple reminds me very much of a religion.
